We’ve all heard of the custom of a June wedding; it was traditionally the most popular month to get married due to it being named after the protector of women and the goddess of marriage: Juno. Because of that, little superstitions came from the tradition such as the phrase “When you marry in June, you’re a bride all your life.” and the overall good luck that comes with marrying during the Juno namesake. If the bride couldn’t fit her date in June, however, then the summer was still ideal for its nice weather.
However, since 2016 according to the Knot, fall weddings have become the most popular season for getting married—October specifically. Well, we’d have to agree! Our falls have been a popular time for booking weddings at our venue, and we’re almost completely reserved for this fall and 2020’s fall. (If you were hoping for a 2020 fall wedding at our venue, we urge you to call soon to check our availability!) So what’s the big deal about fall weddings?
Overall, there’s a lot of benefits to a fall wedding that couples are starting to realize: nice weather that isn’t too humid/muggy; beautiful fall foliage in the background; seasonal flavors like pumpkin, cinnamon, apples, can be used in the food; and it’s a better time for guests to plan around since vacations are usually taken in the summer.
